2017-18 TV audiences: European Top 5 leagues (Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the United Kingdom)

The Serie A TIM posted, at the national level, as in 2016-17, the best cumulative TV audience of the European Top 5 leagues with 299 million viewers in Italy in 2017-18, despite a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous season. The matches broadcast on Sky Italia were up 4.9%. while those on Mediaset Premium were down 14.3%.

The opening match of the 2017-18 Bundesliga, FC Bayern Munich - Bayer 04 Leverkusen (3-1) on 18/08/2017 (kick-off at 20:30 CET), posted the best TV audience of a match in the European Top 5 with an average of 7.94 million viewers on the public-TV channel ZDF.

Five Serie A clubs (Juventus FC, FC Internazionale Milano, AC Milan, SSC Napoli and AS Roma) drew an average of over one million subscribers per match (two broadcasters). Only two LaLiga Santander clubs posted an average of over one million subscribers (Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona) and none in the Bundesliga.
