Serie BKT: Perform (DAZN) acquires broadcasting rights in Italy for the 2018-2021 cycle

Perform, a British group specialised in the production and distribution of sports content on digital platforms, has acquired, for its OTT platform DAZN, the broadcasting rights to the Serie BKT, valid in Italy, for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 29/06/2018.

DAZN will pay €22m per season (to which bonuses can be added), according to Italian press, to broadcast 472 games per season in their entirety including 428 exclusively (10 out of 11 games per matchday and all promotion play-off matches) of the Italian second division (22 clubs). The broadcast rights for one free-to-air match per matchday (Friday night) will be awarded around 10/07/2018, according to Italian press.

Perform acquired the rights to broadcast 114 of the 380 Serie A matches (three per matchday, see below), in Italy, over the period 2018-2021, on 13/06/2018, for an estimated amount of €193m per year, according to Italian press.
