LaLiga Santander: Kappa succeeds adidas as equipment supplier of Real Betis for the 2018-2022 cycle

The Italian brand Kappa has become the technical sponsor and equipment supplier of Real Betis Balompié (LaLiga Santander) for four seasons (2018-2022), on 02/07/2018. Kappa gains the status of main partner, the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the Seville (ESP) club.

Kappa was previously the equipment supplier of Real Betis during the 1995-2009 period. The club had played with under its own equipment brand RBB ("Real Betis Balompié") for the 2009-2012 cycle, before signing a contract with Macron, initially for the 2012-2016 cycle. Betis had prematurely broken its agreement with the Italian brand one year before it was due to end, in order to collaborate with the German brand adidas. The contract with adidas initially covered five (2015-2020) or six seasons (2015-2021), according to sources.

In November 2017, the Spanish press reported the club's desire to break its contract with adidas to sign with Kappa, in order to benefit from exclusively designed shirts, not from the catalog, as was the case with the German brand.
