Copyright: Lega Serie A/Lega Serie B support the directive submitted to the European Parliament

Lega Serie A and Lega Serie B, "in full agreement with European Leagues, support the directive on copyright in the single market (the so-called "Copyright Directive"), which was put to a vote during a plenary session of the European Parliament, on Thursday 05/07/2018," announced the two Italian Professional Leagues on 04/07/2018.

The Lega Serie A and Lega Serie B "join the main European representatives of the cultural and content-creation industries to demand the implementation of appropriate regulatory tools to fight the increasingly developing and harmful piracy," added the two Leagues, with reference to Article 13 of the directive (see below).

The main objective of the directive is "to reduce the differences between national copyright regimes and allow for wider online access to works by users across the EU."
