eSports: Bayer 04 Leverkusen partner Barmenia (insurance) becomes a sponsor of the eSports team

The German insurance company Barmenia Versicherungen has extended its agreement with Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Bundesliga) and has become a sponsor of the club's eSports team (#B04eSports) "from 01/07/2018 until 2019", announced the club on 03/07/2018.

As part of this agreement, Barmenia also gains "visibility on the communication platforms of the eSports team, the organisation of a live match in the Barmenia box at the BayArena (30,210 capacity), the right to organise an offline tournament under the B04 branding as well as four meetings with the eSports player 'M4RV'," added the club, of which Barmenia Versicherungen became a major sponsor and shirt sponsor for the 2016-2020 cycle, on 03/06/2016. The value of the partnership is estimated at between €6m and €7.5m per season by the German media. The headquarters of Barmenia are located in Wuppertal (GER), 25km north of Leverkusen.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen entered the eSports scene by recruiting Marvin "M4RV" Hintz, "one of the best FIFA 18 players in Germany," said the German club on 07/12/2017.
