LaLiga Santander: RCD Espanyol opens an academy in Blida, the club's 2^nd in Algeria and 8^th abroad

Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) have opened a second RCDE academy in Algeria, in Blida (50km from Algiers), according to the club on 28/06/2018.

The academy will be managed by United Football Academy, partner of the club in Algeria, which has been in charge of the management of the club's other academy in Algiers since September 2016.

The Blida Academy is the eighth RCD Espanyol academy abroad, after those in New Jersey, Miami and Los Angeles (United States), Ajman (United Arab Emirates), Baghdad (Iraq), Saitama (Japan) and Algiers. The Catalan club also inaugurated an academy for young Chinese and Asian players in Sabadell (near Barcelona, ESP), in partnership with the Chinese club HLK Football Club in June 2017.

• RCD Espanyol finished eleventh in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander Spanish first division (20 clubs); naming rights contract to the bank Santander since 2016. table with 49 points (12 wins, 13 draws and 13 defeats).
