EFL: AFC Bournemouth fined £4.75m for failure to comply with financial regulations in 2014-15

"The EFL and AFC Bournemouth (Premier League) have reached an agreement to settle a dispute between them arising out of the financial results of the club in 2014-15," said the EFL and the club which won the Sky Bet Championship during the same season. AFC Bournemouth will thus have to pay a fine of £4.75m (€5.37m) for a deficit of £38.3m (€53.8m in 30/06/2015) versus the £6m (€8.4m) that was allowed at the time according to EFL regulations.

"The club was deemed to have breached the EFL's Championship Financial Fair Play Rules at the time (the rules have since been modified, see below), but proceedings were stayed pending the outcome of a legal challenge by Queens Park Rangers against those rules (see below). In reaching a settlement, the EFL acknowledges that the club did not make any deliberate attempt to infringe the rules or to deceive. All relevant matters were taken into account when determining the quantum of the settlement," added the two parties.
