China: PP Sports acquires broadcasting rights for the Bundesliga for five seasons (2018-2023)

The sports branch of PPTV, a Chinese pay-TV group and subsidiary of the multinational corporation Suning, has acquired the broadcasting rights in China for the Bundesliga for the 2018-2023 cycle, announced the DFL at the German Embassy in China on 09/07/2018.

"The deal means that PP Sports will hold Bundesliga's broadcasting and distribution rights in China for TV in cooperation with CCTV (Chinese public broadcaster), and exclusively for internet, new media, OTT services and other media channels," said the DFL.

The value of this agreement, according to the German magazine Kicker on 03/04/2017, would be $250m (€213m).
