Ligue 1: Olympique de Marseille takes over commercial exploitation of Orange Velodrome from Arema

"The company Arema and SASP Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Conforama) have signed an agreement that summarizes the main terms of the resumption of the commercial exploitation of the Orange Velodrome (65,252 capacity) by OM," announced the City of Marseille, the owner of the enclosure, on 12/07/2018. Arema has been the operator of the Orange Vélodrome since the renovation of the stadium (started in 2011 and completed in 2014), under the Public Private Partnership contract signed in November 2010.

"This is a first step in the implementation of the future operating contract that will be established between these two companies in the coming weeks. This agreement, found by OM and Arema for the commercial exploitation of the Orange Vélodrome, is in line with the global partnership agreement signed just a year ago between Jean-Claude Gaudin (Mayor of Marseille) and Jacques-Henri Eyraud (president of Olympique de Marseille)," added the City of Marseille, which collects a rental fee from the club comprising of a fixed part of €5m and a variable portion based on ticketing, and which is…
