2018 World Cup: 19.34 million TV viewers for France - Croatia on TF1 (7^th best audience ever in FRA)

France - Croatia (4-2), the final of the 2018 World Cupin Russia, drew 19.34 million TV viewers on average in France, with a peak audience of 22.2 million, on the private, free TV channel TF1, on Sunday 15/07/2018 (kick-off at 17:00 CET), according to data from the French audience measurement institute Médiamétrie.

This figure represented an audience share of 82.2%, and enabled TF1 to post the best performance in the French TV market since the final of Euro 2016, Portugal - France (1-0), which drew an average of 20.83 million viewers in France on the private, free-TV channel M6, on 10/07/2016.

This is the seventh best historical audience, all programmes combined, in France. The record is still held by France - Portugal (1-0), the semi-final of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, which drew an average of 22.6 million viewers on TF1, on 05/07/2006.

The match was also co-broadcast by the pay-TV group beIN Sports, whose audience had not yet been announced early in the morning on 16/07/2018.
