2018 World Cup: 56 million TV viewers on average in China for the France-Croatia (4-2) final

France - Croatia (4-2), the final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, drew 56 million TV viewers on average in China, with a peak audience of 64 million viewers "just before half-time", on two channels of the public television group CCTV, on Sunday 15/07/2018 (kick-off at 17:00 CET, 23:00 in Beijing), indicated the official audience measurement institute CSM Media Research TV on 16/07/2018.

"This is currently the most watched sports programme on TV in China for 2018, but also one of the highest ever since the Beijing Olympics (in 2008)," said the institute.

In total, 91 million different Chinese TV viewers followed all or part of the game. CCTV5 has recorded for this match a record audience share for the competition of "more than 40%", detailed CSM Media Research TV, which states that the audience on digital platforms as well as those in bars or public places are not not taken into account.
