2018 World Cup in Russia: RATP celebrates France's victory by renaming Paris metro stations

The Paris public transport group RATP is celebrating France's 2018 World Cup victory versus Croatia (4-2) on 15/07/2018, by renaming several metro stations on behalf of the players and manager of the French national team, on 16/07/2018.

On line 2 of the Paris metro, the station Avron has become "Nous Avron Gagné" ("we have won", in english); Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, "On a 2 Etoiles" ("We have 2 Stars"), and Victor Hugo, "Victor Hugo Lloris". On lines 6 and 14, Bercy has been changed into "Bercy les Bleus" ("Merci/thank you les bleus"). On line 12, Notre-Dame des Champs gives way to "Notre Didier Deschamps". On line 13, Champs Elysées-Clémenceau has become "Deschamps Elysées-Clémenceau" and Varenne, "Raphaël Varenne". On line 7, the station Corentin Cariou is now named "Corentin Cariou Tolisso", while on line 11, Arts et Métiers was renamed "Pavard et Métiers."
