SD Eibar: renovation of the club's stadium continues with the reconstruction of the western stand

Sociedad Deportiva Eibar (LaLiga Santander) is continuing the renovation of the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa with the reconstruction of the western stand, according to the club on 14/07/2018. This is the third and final stand of the Basque club's grounds to be modernised after the North and East stands.

Work on the western stand began at the end of the 2017-18 season and will extend over several months, with the demolition of the current stand scheduled for October to November 2018. The capacity of the stadium, which is currently 7,063 seats, will be reduced to 5,955, before increasing to 8,050 when the new West stand becomes operational. "Work on the stadium is progressing on schedule and should be finalised for the start of the 2019-20 season," added SD Eibar

Since joining LaLiga Santander in 2014-15, the club has undertaken a lot of work to modernise and increase the capacity of the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa. The total value of the investment is estimated at roughly €10m, entirely at the expense of SD Eibar.
