France: LFP signs a two-year pitch and groundskeeping agreement with the French Golf Federation

"The Professional Football League signs a two-year agreement with the French Association of Golf Course Groundskeepers (AGREF) and the French Golf Federation (FFGolf) for the integration into its grounds research and surveillance network," announced the LFP on 17/07/2018.

"Following Euro 2016, the hot weather and the limited time available before the resumption of the Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 had disrupted the regeneration of football pitches due to fungal diseases, with unusual strains in our regions which impacted many stadiums, especially south of the Loire," said the French League.

"(In terms grass), golf and football face issues that are quite similar through the daily maintenance and the requirements for a professional sport, so it appeared interesting and relevant that:
• Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 club groundskeepers can also join the network to help share information.
• Specific training sessions will be organized for the sharing of best practices for the pitches of the Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 clubs.
