UK/ Ireland: Eleven Sports acquires Chinese Super League and Eredivisie TV rights

The British audiovisual group Eleven Sports has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Eredivisie for the 2018-2021 cycle, the Chinese Super League (CSL) for the 2019-2021 (calendar years) cycle, and the Swedish first division for the 2018-2020 (calendar years) cycle, for the United Kingdom and Ireland, on 18/07/2018.

These acquisition of these rights by Eleven Sports for the United Kingdom and Ireland follow rights acquired for LaLiga Santander for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 02/05/2018, and the Serie A, for the same period on 13/07/2018.

Eleven Sports also announced on 13/07/2018 a partnership with IMG for the launch of its two channels Eleven Sports 1 and 2 via an online streaming platform, in the United Kingdom and Ireland, in August 2018. IMG will take a minority stake in these two new channels.

  • "Eleven Sports is also in discussions with other major platforms in the UK and Ireland to offer the widest possible access to the premium action available on the service," said the group on 18/07/2018.
