AC Milan: Court of Arbitration for Sport overturns the club's exclusion from 2018-19 Europa League

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has partially overturned the ruling of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) against AC Milan (Serie A), and decided to reinstate the Italian club in the 2018-19 Europa League, on 20/07/2018. AC Milan qualified directly for the group stage competition after finishing 6^th in the 2017-18 Serie A TIM table, before being denied access by a decision of the UEFA CFCB body on 19/06/2018, against which the club appealed to the CAS.

"The decision of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA CFCB rendered on 19/06/2018 establishing that AC Milan has failed to fulfil the break-even requirement is confirmed. The decision of the Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA CFCB rendered on 19/06/2018 to exclude AC Milan from participating in the next UEFA Club competition for which it would otherwise qualify in the next two (2) seasons (i.e. the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons) is annulled," read the CAS decision.
