Tennis: Rolex (watchmaker) becomes an official sponsor and official timekeeper of the US Open

The Swiss watchmaker Rolex, has become, an official sponsor and official timekeeper of the grand slam tournament of the US Open as part of a "multi-year" partnership with the USTA (US Tennis Association), on 23/07/2018. Rolex replaces the Japanese watchmaker Citizen and also becomes a sponsor of the Cincinnati Masters (Ohio, USA), the "Western & Southern Open, completing its sponsorship of all nine Masters Series events," said the US Open on 23/07/2018.

During the 2018 edition of the US Open (from 27/08 to 09/09/2018) "Rolex timepieces and clocks will be visible throughout the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, including the signature clock that is affixed to the outer façade of Arthur Ashe Stadium. The partnership also includes Rolex's support of the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla., as well as the programmes of the USTA Foundation, the official charitable arm of the USTA, which assists under-resourced youth," explained the organising body.
