Sky: turnover of £13.585 in 2017-18 (+5%) and 23 million subscribers in 5 countries (+510,000)

The British pay-TV group Sky posted an annual turnover of £13.585bn (€15.34bn) on 30/06/2018, up 5% compared to in 2017 (01/07/2016 - 30/06/2017), according to the group on 27/07/2018. The 2017 turnover was already up by 10% compared to the 2016 fiscal year.

Sky generated 65.7% of its turnover from the United Kingdom and Ireland (£8.931bn, or €10.08bn), 14.9% from Germany and Austria (€2.283bn), and 19.4% from Italy (€2.9bn).

EBITDA (£2.349bn/€2.653bn), operating profit (£1.574bn/€1.778bn) and net profit (£1.168bn/€1.319bn) also increased by 9%, 7% and 11% respectively, compared to in 2017.

As of 30/06/2018, Sky has 23.01 million direct subscribers (+510,000), including 12.996 million in the United Kingdom and Ireland (+270,000), 5.191 million in Germany and Austria (+200,000) and 4.823 million in Italy (+40,000).
