FC Bordeaux: M6 Group in exclusive negotiations with the US investment fund GACP to sell the club

"M6 Group entered into exclusive negotiations today with the US-based investment fund General American Capital Partners (GACP) for the sale of 100% of FC Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 1 Conforama)," announced the audiovisual group and owner of the club, on 27/07/2018.

"Due to the increasing budgets of several Ligue 1 clubs, M6 Group believes that the sale of FC Girondins de Bordeaux to GACP, which proposes an ambitious sports project and a long-term investment strategy, would constitute the best option to maintain the position of the club and ultimately improve its results," added M6, which acquired the Bordeaux club in 1999 for an amount of 120m Francs.

"The completion of the transaction remains subject to the finalisation of the negotiations as well as the consultation of the employee representative bodies concerned and approval by the Bordeaux Métropole Council of the guarantees offered by GACP with regard to the rent owed by the FCGB for the use of the stadium (the Matmut Atlantique, €3.85m per year until 2045)," concluded M6 Group, whose negotiations with GAPC began in March…
