eSports: partnership between Villarreal CF and Esportia for the creation of an eSports team

Villarreal CF (LaLiga Santander) have created a professional eSports team, in partnership with Esportia, a company specialised in the professionalisation of eSports, according to the Spanish club, on 26/07/2018.

"Villarreal CF is committed to a sector that is on the rise and with great growth prospects for the coming years. E-sports are a reality and official competitions are on the rise, both in terms of media coverage and prize money," said the Spanish club.

"With the help of a specialised company such as Esportia, the club aims to expand and reinforce its image with a future project based on professional video game competitions. The club will have teams for games such as League of Legends, Clash Royale and Rocket League, in addition to FIFA," added the club.
