Serie BKT: RAI acquires the broadcasting rights for one free-to-air game per matchday (2018-2021)

RAI, the Italian public TV broadcaster, has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights, in Italy, of one game per matchday of the Serie BKT (on Friday night), for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 30/07/2018.

RAI's proposal for the summaries of the free-to-air matches as well as radio rights, was not considered sufficient by the Lega Serie B, which will reopen a negotiations phase for these two offers.

Perform, a British group specialised in the production and distribution of sports content on digital platforms, has acquired, for its OTT platform DAZN, the broadcasting rights to the Serie BKT, valid in Italy, for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 29/06/2018. DAZN will pay €22m per season (to which bonuses can be added), according to Italian press, to broadcast 472 games per season in their entirety including 428 exclusively (10 out of 11 games per matchday and all promotion play-off matches) of the Italian second division (22 clubs).
