CAF: Extraordinary General Assembly in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) on Sunday 30/09/2018

"The CAF Extraordinary General Assembly will be held on Sunday, 30/09/2018 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt," announced the African Confederation presided by Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), on 30/07/2018.

"Review of the concept of centralisation of the rights to the qualifiers of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar" is one of the items on the agenda for the Extraordinary General Assembly (document available to download) to which the representatives of the 55 national federations that fall under CAF are invited.

Other items on the agenda include: "Updates on the CAF - Lagardère Sports contract" and the "election of an African representative to the FIFA Council for the anglophone linguistic grouping," according to CAF.

The last point follows the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi (Ghana) from both the FIFA Council and the CAF executive committee of which he was the first vice-president, as well as the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), on 08/06/2018.
