Premier League: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (August 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2018-19 Premier League season have more than 400 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/08/2018. This total makes the Premier League the second most popular European Top 5 league on all the three social networks, behind LaLiga Santander, with an average of more than 20 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with over 114 million fans, followed by two London clubs: Chelsea, with nearly 72 million fans and Arsenal, with over 63 million.

7 of the 20 Premier League clubs saw a decrease in their number of Facebook likes and Twitter followers compared to on 01/07/2018. This decrease can be partly explained by a clean-up operation carried out by the two social networks as part of the new General Data Protection Regulation, on 25/05/2018.
