LaLiga Santander: FC Barcelona suspends 2,822 members for their participation in counterfeit tickets

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) has suspended 2,822 season ticket holders involved in counterfeit tickets for the 2017-18 El Clasico home game versus Real Madrid CF (2-2, 06/05/2018), according to the Catalan club, on 26/07/2018.

A complaint was also lodged by FC Barcelona against people and companies suspected of being involved in the fraudulent resale of tickets during the match. "The club will undertake this action thanks to the information provided by more than a hundred members as part of the research carried out by the club's Disciplinary Committee, following the discovery of thousands fake tickets involving a total of 2,822 season ticket holders," said Barça.

In addition to the suspension of their season tickets, the culprits have been suspended from their member status for periods ranging from 6 to 18 months depending on their degree of collaboration in the search for information. Thirty-three repeat offenders will permanently lose their member status. All suspended season tickets will be re-sold by FC Barcelona.
