"We feel that 45,000 seats is not sufficient for Paris Saint-Germain. The next step is to see if technically an enlargement of the Parc des Princes is possible and whether this stadium can accommodate 55,000 or 60,000 seats," said Paris Saint-Germain's Chief Operating Officer, Jean-Claude Blanc, to NTF on the 20/12/2013.

In the summer of 2013 Paris Saint-Germain began the renovation of the Parc des Princes for a total amount of €75 million. "We are in a very urban environment, in a neighborhood that is changing a lot, this is why we wanted to renovate the stadium without affecting capacity.
