LaLiga Santander: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (August 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander season have more than 434 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/08/2018. This total makes LaLiga Santander the most popular European league on all three social networks, ahead of the Premier League. The Spanish first division has an average of 21.7 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF are the most popular Spanish club with 201 million fans. The cumulative number fans of the winner of the 2018 Champions League and FC Barcelona (2^nd with nearly 190 million fans in total) represents 90% of the total fans of all the LaLiga Santander clubs combined over the 3 social networks. Third in the rankings, Club Atlético de Madrid has more than 22.6 million fans.

12 of the 20 Spanish clubs saw a decrease in their number of Twitter followers and eight clubs experienced a decrease in Facebook likes compared to on 01/07/2018 on Twitter.
