Paris Saint-Germain: airline Emirates will not extend its shirt sponsorship contract beyond 2019

"By mutual agreement with the club, Emirates will not renew its sponsorship contract with Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama)" beyond 2018-19, announced the Dubai airline company  (United Arab Emirates) to News Tank Football on 03/08/2018.

Emirates, with its slogan "Fly Emirates", has been the main shirt sponsor of Paris Saint-Germain since 2006-07. The company had extended with PSG for the 2014-2019 period on 17/05/2013, for an annual amount between €20m and €30m, depending on the sporting results of the club.

"After a period of exclusive negotiations between the two partners that did not succeed, Emirates did not wish to meet the requirements of Parisians. In the beginning of discussions to extend this agreement, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (president of Paris Saint-Germain) wanted €80m annually, an amount that the company did not want to pay," reported the French sports daily L'Équipe on 03/08/2018.
