AS Roma president James Pallotta presents new stadium project to mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino

"We are on track, but we still have much work to do," said James Pallotta, the American president of AS Roma (Serie A) following his meeting with the mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino, on the 09/12/2013. The aim of the meeting was to submit the club's construction project for a new stadium.

American architect Dan Meis' project is for a stadium with a capacity of between 52,000 and 60,000 seats, with architecture that would be inspired by the Colosseum. It also allows for the integration of megastores like Nike, Volkswagen, and even Disney - all partners of the club. The headquarters of the club could also be integrated into the project. The cost of the stadium would be between 200 and 300 million euro. "From a technological point of view, this will definitely be the most advanced stadium ever seen on this continent," said James Pallotta.
