Sky Deutschland will broadcast summaries of Champions League matches in Germany on Sky Sport News, a free sports news channel, according to the German pay-TV group on 08/08/2018. Highlights will be broadcast shortly after the matches and longer summaries from midnight.

Sky acquired the full broadcast rights for the Champions League in Germany for the 2018-2021 cycle and sub-licensed part of these rights to Perform, a British group specialised in the production and distribution of sports content on digital platforms, which will broadcast the matches on its OTT sports platform DAZN (see below). Both groups would pay €200m per year for these rights.

Unless there is a change in programming or a future sub-license agreement, no Champions League match (except for the final) will be broadcast for free in Germany. The German public-TV group ZDF previously broadcast the best game of each week of the competition during the 2015-2018 cycle.
