McDonald's UK, the British subsidiary of the American fast food group, has extended its partnership with The FA on 07/08/2018. The agreement will cover a period of four seasons (2018-2022).

McDonald's is a "National Game" partner, for grassroots and English amateur football, the sixth level in the sponsorship hierarchy of The FA. "After working together for the last 16 years, making them the longest standing supporter of the grassroots game in the UK, the new participation programme will see 'turn up and play' coaching sessions and community football days take place across the country," said the Football Association.

"Over half a million children (aged 5 to 11) in the UK will get the chance to play football for the first time, with five million hours of fun football provided by 2022," added the FA. The "McDonald's Fun Football" scheme is set up in collaboration with The FA (England), the Scottish FA (Scotland), FAW (Wales) and the IFA (Northern Ireland), the four British football federations of which McDonald's UK is a partner.
