Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur FC's new stadium debut postponed for safety reasons

Tottenham Hotspur FC's Premier League debut in the new stadium will not take place on 15/09/2018 and the club's match versus Liverpool FC (Premier League), as was originally scheduled, but at the earliest the end of October 2018, due to "issues with the critical safety systems," announced the London (ENG) club on 13/08/2018.

Tottenham Hotspur FC - Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC - Cardiff City FC (06/10/2018) will take place at Wembley Stadium (90,000 capacity), as have all of the club's home matches since the beginning of the 2017-18 season.

"The delays created by these difficulties mean that we can no longer hold the necessary Test Events on 27/08 and 01/09/2018 (an academy match and a club legends match versus FC Bayern Munich were scheduled for these two dates). These will need to be rescheduled to take place ahead of any first official match at the new stadium in order to achieve the safety licence," added Tottenham, who have also been forced to relocate the NFL game between the Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks, scheduled for 14/10/2018, to Wembley.
