Facebook has acquired the rights to broadcast 31 UEFA Champions League games per season and the UEFA Super Cup in 2018-2021 in Spanish-speaking Latin American countries, UEFA announced on 15/08/2018.

Facebook has acquired the exclusivity of these rights for a broadcast free-to-air. The matches will be broadcast on the UEFA Champions League Facebook page, which has more than 65 million fans worldwide. Real Madrid - Atlético de Madrid (2-4, after extra time), the 2018 UEFA Super Cup, was the first game posted on Facebook as part of this agreement.

UEFA's announcement comes one day after LaLiga awarded the rights to LaLiga Santander, over 2018-2021, to Facebook in eight South Asian countries (India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), for an amount of €90m according to the Spanish daily Marca on 14/08/2018.
