UEFA: 8 national federations nominate current president Aleksander Ceferin for the 2019 election

The Football Association of Slovenia (Nogometna zveza Slovenije, NZS), the Italian Federation (FIGC) and the six Nordic Federations (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, by unanimous decision at a meeting in Finland on 18 and 19/08/2018) have nominated Aleksander Ceferin (SVN) "for a second term (2019-2023) as president of UEFA," announced the Football Association of Slovenia, on 21/08/2018.

The vote will take place at the 43^rd regular UEFA congress scheduled in Rome (ITA), on Thursday 07/02/2019. Aleksander Ceferin, who was previously president of the NZS, was elected president of UEFA on 14/09/2016, and replaced Michel Platini, UEFA president from 26/01/2007 to 08/10/2015 who was suspended on the same date, from any function in football for four years (until 08/10/2019).
