Lega Serie A: solidarity fund created after the Morandi bridge disaster in Genoa

"As a sign of sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the Genoa tragedy, the Lega Serie A will set-up, as it had previously announced, a fund that will meet the needs of the people of Genoa, in agreement with the authorities of the city," announced Gaetano Miccichè, president of the Italian professional football league, on 24/08/2018, 10 days after the collapse of the Morandi bridge that left 43 dead, on 14/08/2018.

"The sentence 'Genoa in the heart', will appear on shirts worn by all Serie A TIM teams and referees, as they walk onto the pitch for the second matchday of the championship (from 24 to 27/08/2018) - a way to remember the victims of the collapse of the Morandi bridge and support the city of Genoa," said the Lega Serie A, on 24/08/2018.
