Matchday 1 of the 2018-19 Bundesliga season drew an average of 47,170 spectators per game from 24 to 26/08/2018. The average fill rate was 90%. The 18 Bundesliga clubs also posted a fill rate of 90% on Matchday 1 of the 2017-18 season with an average of 44,120 spectators per game.

The Borussia Dortmund - RB Leipzig (4-1) match, on Sunday 26/08/2018 (kick-off at 18:00 CET), was the game that posted the best attendance of Matchday 1 with 80,365 spectators at the Signal Iduna Park (81,360 capacity, a fill rate of almost 99%).
