Bundesliga: Nike (5 clubs) the most represented equipment supplier in 2018-19

With five of the 18 clubs (28% of the clubs) under contract, the US brand Nike is the most represented equipment supplier in the Bundesliga for the 2018-19 season, ahead of the German brand Puma and the British brand Umbro (three clubs each).

Nike is the most represented equipment supplier in the Bundesliga for the third consecutive season. adidas, equipment supplier of the DFB since 1954 and official ball of the German first division for the 2010-2018 cycle, has only one club under contract in the Bundesliga in 2018-19: FC Bayern Munich. adidas equipped a third of the Bundesliga clubs during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

In total, eight brands are represented in the 2018-19 Bundesliga, a stable figure since 2016-17. Compared to in 2017-18, Umbro and Uhlsport replace Kappa and Erima. Seven out of the 18 clubs (39%) are equipped by four German equipment manufacturers.

Equipment contracts will provide a minimum of €120.9m to the Bundesliga clubs in 2018-19, or €3m more (+2.5%) than in 2017-18 (€117.9m). More than half of the overall amount (51%) is provided by the contract…
