ECA: report on VAR, the European Cups and an awards ceremony in Split (CRO) on 10 and 11/09/2018

A report on the video assistant referee used during the 64 matches of the 2018 World Cup in Russia is on the agenda of the 21^st General Assembly of the ECA, organised at the Meridien Lav Hotel in Split (Croatia), on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11/09/2018.

Among the other points addressed by the representatives of the 232 European clubs and members of the ECA chaired by Andrea Agnelli (ITA), are the European Cups and in particular the 2021-2024 cycle of the Europe League, as well as the operation of UEFA Club Competitions SA (UCC), a UEFA affiliate of which half of the members of the board of directors (first meeting on 02/06/2017) are designated by UEFA and the other half by the ECA.

"UCC's role is to advise and make recommendations to UEFA Club Competitions' Committee on strategic business matters and opportunities for its consideration before being referred up to the UEFA Executive Committee for approval. UCC does not deal with sporting matters, but only with business matters," said UEFA on 02/06/2017.
