LaLiga Santander: VAR, new broadcasting technologies, and an influencer campaign for 2018-19

VAR, new camera technologies, and a dedicated infuencer campaign are some of the new items in store for the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander season, indicated the Spanish League at its LaLiga Kick Off event in Paris (FRA) on 05/09/2018, in which LaLiga bills itself as a 360° entertainment spectacle.

Regarding Video Assistant Referees, LaLiga Santander joins the Ligue 1 Conforama in implementing this technology for the 2018-19 season. The Bundesliga, the Serie A TIM, and FIFA (at the 2018 World Cup) have already added VAR to their matchday operations, while the Premier League and UEFA (Champions League and Europa League) have yet to do so.

For the broadcasting of the games on TV, LaLiga Santander has advanced several new initiatives, including a "Sky Cam" (camera suspended over the roof) in 8 stadiums, 4k technology, and 360° replay in 6 stadiums, as well as upgrades to the league's use of 3-D graphics.
