UEFA: Conditional exclusion of Marseille canceled on appeal, closed-door matches and fine confirmed

The exclusion of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Conforama) for the next European cup for which the club would qualify for (not including 2018-19) in the event of new crowd incidents in the next two seasons (2018-2020), the main sanction given by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 25/07/2018, has been canceled by the UEFA Appeals Body in its decision made public on 10/09/2018.

The other sanctions against OM are, however, maintained. The club will have to play its next European cup home game (in the 2018-19 Europa League against the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, on 20/09/2018) behind closed doors and the two following games (against the Serie A club SS Lazio on 25/10/2018 and Cyprus club Apollon Limassol FC on 13/12/2018) with the north and south stands (behind the goals, home of many OM supporters' groups) of the Orange Velodrome closed. Olympique de Marseille is also subject to further closed-door (total) matches in the event of new crowd incidents during a probationary period of two years.
