China: Unilever's Clear becomes partner of Guangzhou Evergrande FC

Cosmetics brand Clear, which belongs to the Dutch group Unilever, has become a sponsor of Guangzhou Evergrande FC (CHN), on the 10/12/2013.

The agreement was negotiated by the U.S. marketing rights agency Octagon. Guangzhou Evergrande will integrate Clear's new strategic advertising campaign for men aged 18 to 35 in China.

"Football is undoubtedly one of the most popular sports in China and this deal builds on Clear’s elite heritage in the game by becoming the first international partner of the best team in both China and Asia," said Octagon China’s managing director Ryan Sandilands.

Guangzhou Evergrande FC, AFC Champions League winners in 2013, are representing Asia during the 2013 Club World Cup, which began on the 11/12/2013 in Agadir, Morocco. The Chinese club, led by the Italian Marcello Lippi, play Bayern Munich (GER) in the semi-finals on the 17/12/2013 (kick-off at 8.30pm CET) in Agadir.
