Serie A: Turkish Airlines in talks to become Roma's shirt sponsor

Turkish Airlines are in talks with AS Roma (Serie A) to become their main shirt sponsor, according to the Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, on the 15/12/2013.

Turkish Airlines have offered €11 million over three and a half years, until the end of the 2016-17 season, to be the Roman club's shirt partner. However, Roma would prefer to accept this sum for two and a half seasons, until the end of the 2015-16 championship. The annual budget would be €4.4 million. Roma are the only Serie A club with no shirt sponsor in 2013-14.

The club's foundation "Roma Cares" has been displayed on the front of Roma's shirt since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, due to a lack of a sponsor. The Italian mobile operator Wind was the club's shirt sponsor until the end of the 2012-13 season.

"We have serious investors willing to help us. For Christmas, we will have a shirt sponsor," stated James Pallotta, the American president of Roma, on the 17/11/2013.
