Champions League: RAI only free-TV broadcaster in Top 5, 100 matches via OTT in Germany

The Italian public broadcaster RAI, which acquired, via sublicense from Sky Italia, the exclusive TV rights, in Italy, for one game per matchday of the Champions League for the 2018-2021 cycle, on 25/01/2018, and thus is the only free-to-air broadcaster (not including the final of the competition) of the Champions League in the European Top 5 countries (Germany, Spain, France, Italy, United Kingdom), on 18/09/2018.

• In Germany, the pay-TV group Sky Deutschland and the OTT platform DAZN (Perform group) share the broadcast rights of the competition (see below), acquired on 13/06/2017.

• In Spain, the audiovisual group Mediapro acquired the exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League on 19/07/2017, and then resold them in full to the telecom group Telefonica on 28/06/2018, after Mediapro lost the domestic rights to LaLiga Santander for the 2019-2022 cycle, on 28/05/2018.
