United States and the Caribbean: Fox Sports extend Champions League rights until 2018

The American pay-TV group Fox Sports have acquired the broadcast rights to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League for the period 2015-2018, the company announced on the 17/12/2013.

The broadcast rights cover the United States and Caribbean region, where Fox Sports have been showing the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Champions League since 2009-10, and the Europa League since 2012-13, with coverage in both English and Spanish.

"The combination of UEFA Champions and Europa leagues provides viewers with the complete club competition experience at the highest level. The fact that all the leading European teams and players continue to be seen on one destination speaks to FOX Sports’ commitment to showcase the world’s best," said David Nathanson, General Manager and COO of FOX Sports 1 and 2.

"No other sports television franchise has an elite international soccer schedule that even comes close," added David Nathanson.
