DFL: Bundesliga International to launch a new office in New York (USA) on 16/10/2018

"Bundesliga International, Deutsche Fußball Liga’s fully owned subsidiary responsible for international sales and marketing activities of the German top football leagues, is making its mark in the Americas. Set to open on 16/10/2018, the New York office will be the second international branch, following the Singapore office launched in 2012," announced the DFL on 18/09/2018.

The office will begin with five employees, two of which were announced on 18/09/2018: the German Arne Rees (formerly general manager of international digital for the US media group ESPN) will serve as executive vice-president strategy; and the American Melanie Fitzgerald (formerly director of international media at MLS) as head of Bundesliga Americas.

"Perceiving increasing interest across the Americas, Bundesliga International aims to capitalize on the momentum, leveraging its existing reputation in the region to reach a larger audience and increase visibility, awareness and popularity," added the DFL.
