FIFA: first report on women's professional football records 577 international transfers

577 international transfers of female professional players have been made around the world, with approximately $500,000 (€430,000) spent in the form of transfer payments, during the first eight months of 2018 (from 01/01 to 01/09/2018), according to the official information in the first report on the international transfers of women's professional football players (to download), announced FIFA on 17/09/2018.

According to this document entitled "Women's Transfers in the International Transfer Regulation System (ITMS)", 198 clubs from 65 national FIFA member federations have been involved in international transfers -- the majority of them from UEFA.

Transfers involving American players were almost twice as numerous as those involving any other nationality.

The data in the report comes from the International Transfer Regulation System (ITMS) used by the 211 FIFA member national federations and more than 7,500 professional clubs around the world for the international transfer of players and professional players, said the international federation.
