Spain: Liga Endesa (basketball) breaks contract with MP & Silva, to sell TV rights in 140 countries

Liga ACB (Spanish Basketball League) announced the breaking of its international marketing rights contract for the Liga Endesa (Spanish basketball first division) with the British agency MP & Silva, on 26/09/2018.

MP & Silva, which has defaulted on several payments to multiple rights holders since the beginning of the year 2018 (see related article), had been distributing the international rights of the Spanish basketball first division for eight seasons. It is now the Liga ACB that will market these rights direct without an intermediary.

The Liga ACB sold these rights, from the season 2018-19, in 140 countries to ten broadcasters (see complete list below). "Most of the new contracts are multi-year and extend until the 2020-21 season," said Liga ACB on 26/09/2018.
