LaLiga Santander: a modification of FC Barcelona crest will be submitted to the vote of the socios

On 27/09/2018, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) presented a modified which has been approved by its management, and which will become the club's new emblem from the 2019-20 season if it is validated by its socios at their general meeting on 20/10/2018.

"FC Barcelona is changing its crest in order to adapt to modern times. Since the design was last updated in 2002, the context, society and technology have changed enormously, and the symbols identified with the club need to evolve too. This evolution stays faithful to the historical elements of the crest: the city, Barcelona; the country, Catalonia; the club, the 'blaugrana' colours; and the ball," indicated the Catalan club.

The visual evolution of the crest mainly consists of the removal of the acronym "FCB" in the center, the reduction of the number of 'blaugrana' fringes from 7 to 5 on the lower part and the repositioning of the ball to be more centered.
