Michael van Praag has been re-elected as president of the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB), during the association's general meeting in Zeist (Holland), on the 18/12/2013.

In office since August 2008, when he succeeded the late Mathieu Sprengers, he will now head the association for a further 3 years until 2016.

“I feel really comfortable in this organisation. As association president, you have to be the cement between the bricks, but in Zeist (the KNVB headquarters) we now have a really close team - and this is what you see in the committees where professionals and amateurs are represented,” said Michael van Praag.

Mr. Praag has been a UEFA Executive Committee member since 2009 and is also a former AFC Ajax president.

  • At the general meeting, a vote was also passed approving the renovation of the national team's training centre, in Zeist. "Out of 54 associations in Europe, our facilities rank 48th," said the KNVB president. Cost of work: €13.6 million.
  • Michael Van Praag also received a UEFA HatTrick Award on behalf of the Dutch Association for the social project…
