CAF: Africa supports G. Infantino with a view to the election of the FIFA President on 05/06/2019

"On behalf of my colleagues, I gladly announce that the delegates (present here) are in support of second mandate for FIFA President Gianni Infantino. You (Infantino) have shown great commitment to the activities and development of African football, and we would like to give you more time to further your reforms," stated Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and third vice-president of CAF, said to the audience, addressing Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI), FIFA president, at the 12^th Extraordinary General Assembly of CAF, in Sharm El Sheikh (EGY) on 30/09/2018.

In his introductory speech, Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), CAF president, called on delegates to support the candidacy of the FIFA President ("CAF will support Gianni Infantino for a second term"), but with the vote being reserved for presidents of national federations and therefore not voting himself, he asked the president of the Moroccan Football Federation to make the statement publicly.
