Italy: Fininvest, Berlusconi family holding company, acquires 100% of SS Monza 1912 (Serie C)

"Fininvest SpA has finalized the acquisition of 100% of Societa Sportiva Monza 1912 (Serie C, Italian third division)," stated the holding company of the Berlusconi family on 28/09/2018. The amount of the transaction is estimated at nearly €3m, according to Italian media.

Fininvest acquired AC Milan (Serie A TIM) in 1986, before selling the Milanese club to Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux, the Luxemburg holding company of the Chinese businessman Li Yonghong, in April 2017.

The new board of directors of SS Monza 1912, chaired by Nicola Colombo (who retains his post as president), is composed of Paolo Berlusconi (Silvio's brother), Adriano Galliani, Roberto Mazzo and Danilo Pellegrino. Adriano Galliani, former vice-president of AC Milan, becomes the CEO of the club he previously managed from 1975 to 1985.
